"Travailleur"It has been more than a year since I last volunteered to work for cash.
Today, with the recommendation of Wei Min I went to Bukit Batok CC to do the job of a hot dog cum fish ball distributor. Amazingly it was pretty fun, so much better than waitering which I only get paid 6.50 an hour while this job, simply carrying a few things, setting up the food and the packing up, I get 8 bucks per hour. What was fun was I having the authority in determining who gets the food.
"When the people looked at me with their desperate faces before 7.20pm asking for food, I simply looked back and said, NO."
Little kids would come up to me with their huge cute eyes seemingly silently begging me to give them the food, though I was tempted to, a job is a job and I could only give them after the Minister had finished his damn speech. Oh, it was fun watching Wei Jie rushing to pick up the balls thrown by the kids while I just sat there and watched the on-stage performances.
