Fairfield having a 'high school reunion' dinner plus a celebration of it's founders day, plus a dress code of "Broadway", an interesting combination I thought. Since it doesn't come around so often, I decided to go for it. Do you know $35 dollars can get you into a very good restaurant with highly trained waiters serving you? That sure did pop into my head but oh well, for the sake of reunion I guess.
Stepped into the schoool at 1810 hours. I was taken back at the dressings of the girls that I once knew, absolutely awesome. Well, I suppose I haven't seen such good stuff for a really long time. The girls in overall, were dressed to their best. Many had their hair done with lovely curls, their make up were just perfect, they wore classy clothes. For once, I never appreciated my school girls so much. Sounds rather desperate? Yes, you can say that, but if you were put in my shoes, you'll understand. Anyway, enough of the girls, the guys dressed up pretty well too, was rather amazed as well. The scene up at my school's bridge looked like a gathering of business partners, really polite and formal.
By 1900 hours, we were gathered to the hall to be seated. The very moment I stepped into the hall, Smallville just popped into my head. The word "prom" seemed to be written everywhere. The lights, the tables, the dressing, the songs, absolutely Smallville style. Never thought I was going to experience such atmosphere. When my class sat together, Shaun Gan, a friend of mine, broke the 'rule' of politeness and started making the scene more playful. Certainly wasn't a bad thing, the life of secondary school just vividly reappear before me. I then realise that it was important to treasure this night.
There were some usual standard performances and some singing, but of all things, photo taking seemed to dominate among the other activities. We had our dinner and it wasn't good at all. Buffet never tasted so bad.
Then ther were dance performance, video clips shown, and the best of all, having lame jokes with my classmates. Although the food was lousy, I still did enjoy, was one lovely and pretty night.
