Day: 20/04/2007
TIME: 10 am
I reached Ngee Ann Polytechnic at block 71 to see all my classmates sitting outside. We waited 15 minutes for the lecturer to arrive but we saw no one. So we decided to call one of our lecturer, Mr. Zhou. He said that there was no practical today! Actually, he already told us on Monday; it was due to our carelessness that we forgot about it. In the end, we went to a nearby canteen to rest and relax for 2 hours! An absolutely waste of time, plus, I did not bring my notebook! I simply sat there, listened to music and looked at ‘pretty girls’.
TIME: 12 pm
Finally, we got to get out of that strenuous boredom and enter another one, math lesson. Well, at least this one wasn’t that bad, there was air-con and it only last an hour.
TIME: 1 pm
This is the time where my class gets another 2 hours of break! I went to collect back my Carbon game DVD from a friend, Norman. Then, one of my classmates, Ronald, led the way to have a good lunch at SIM. The food there was very good, the environment was much better than Ngee Ann… ha-ha.
TIME: 2.20 pm
Met up with my old pal, Chester, a very good friend of mine. We have been through thick and thin or whatever you can express it. He came by to Ngee Ann to meet up with another friend before they go together to Fairfield to collect the ‘O’ Level Certificates. At the same time, he brought me back the ear-piece that I lent him ages ago. I had a really good time talking to him then, it had been a long time since I have done that.
TIME: 2.30 pm
Got a call from my manager at Original Sin; he wanted me to go over to work at that very evening, 7pm! It was rather last minute and I was really un-prepared. I wanted to push away his kind offer but he kept on insisting, as if he was begging me to go. Well, being a Good Samaritan, I guess I had to really help him. At that time, my flu was going from bad to worse, I even started coughing. I had thoughts of just going home and leaving all my promises aside but somehow, I managed to strive through.
TIME: 3.00 pm
Arrived at the other practical lesson, this time, there is practical except, we spent almost an hour listening to useless rules and regulations, waiting for late-comers and laughing at stupid jokes.
TIME: 4.00 pm
Left Ngee Ann to wait for the bloody slow 74 to get to Fairfield so as to get the bloody ‘O’ Level Certificate. When I entered Fairfield, I felt, for the first time, an indescribable feeling. I guess it’s the feeling of love? I practically spent my entire life in Fairfield, from primary one till secondary four, which is 10 years of my 16 years of life on earth. Entering a place where I left my blood, joy and sweat for the first time after so many months, was a very strange feeling.
TIME: 7.00 pm
after changing, eating, bathing and taking a bus to Holland, I finally reached Original Sin at 7pm sharp. Feeling all dazed, I relentlessly put on the uniform and my Pierre Cardin shoes and got ready for a four hour ‘marathon’.
TIME: 11.16 pm
this is the time where my job ends. I quickly changed and ran off to catch my 11.21 pm 200 bus. As I was walking to the bus stop, I met an old friend, her name is Samantha. I knew her since secondary one, she was already on the moving bus when I waved at her. We started talking through messages, did I then know why she was at Holland, for supper… hmm… I was wondering, why? Then I read on, and she said it was the most saint place to have supper. Ok, I guess it was interesting. I mean, I am not a guy that goes for suppers, ha-ha-ha!
TIME: 12.00 am – This is the time where I started typing this journal entry.
This is the longest day of the entire week that I had.

This is the day where I finally 'un-officially' quit my job in Original Sin.
Well this final day was rather interesting, I met my Uncle and Aunt during the lunch hour and I served them in the restaurant that I was working in!
OK then after my afternoon shift, on the way home, I met some ACJC friends and on the bus while I was sleeping, I met Hosea too.
I don't know why but tonight, my head is blank, unable to think of anything to type in, sorry Malcolm, your day ends here, good night.

Ever tried standing for almost 11 hours? Or wearing the same sweaty clothes for more than 11 hours? Or smelling pasta and body odour for 11 hours? Well, if you have not, I seriously recommend you to try. It is an absolutely 'amazing' experience that you will never forget. Today is the day of my life that I worked the longest amount of hours in one shot. Being a waiter is never easy, so I urge all of you out there, please, respect them. It is only till you take up the particular job do you then understand how it feels to really be humble.

Every living organism on this planet will eventually 'die' one day, it is just a matter of how and when. just about an hour ago, my 'monster' CPU was sent away for repair. I specifically referred it as a monster because it is bigger than most of the ordinary CPUs and it has over 5 huge fans cooling the interior, because of that, it makes some rather 'monstrous' sounds... hahaha... The 'heart' of this CPU has died, the 'heart' as in the mother-board. About three months ago, it would hang once in a while but now, it hangs everytime I log into Windows. Now, I am stuck with a bloody notebook... I don't know why but I just hate notebooks, I find them incompetent. Alright thats it for today, other than a tiring night job that I had, I got nothing else to say. Good nights Malcolm.

Ah... Finally, my 24 hours break from 'hell'. Seriously, being a waiter is a very very tough job. I really admire those female waitresses that can endure such hours. Anyway there was an interesting encounter on 4/4/2007 at around 1pm. I was doing my routine checks on every table, seeing if I can give the customers an extra hand when suddenly 3 ladies walked by. 2 of them were old but the other one was young and hot. Well, I guided them to their seats and served them the necessary items when I realised that the young lady looked so familiar... She has a face that I could tell at first glance, that she is a model. The more I look the more she looks at me. Well I didn't want to give the impression that I was staring, so I turned my attention to the guys.
Only then, did I realise that she was a celebrity. I could not remember what her name was but I could clearly remember that I have seen her on TV.
When I reached home, I checked the mediacorp site, and 'TA DA!' I found it. She acted in the TV series 'Tiramisu' and her name is, Jaymee Ong.
Alrighty then... gtg to sleep.

Location: Holland
Restaurant: Original Sin
Food: Italian and French style
DATE: 2nd April 2007
TIME: 1748 hours
I reached the restaurant, it was my official first day of work in Original Sin and, I was 48 minutes late. Amazingly there was no mean manager standing there waiting for me. Well I was suppose to reach there an hour earlier before the restaurant opened because they were suppose to teach me the basic waitering knowledge.
48 minutes was terribly late, I know. It's all because of 24, I think I am becoming very addicted to that TV Series. I'm just glad I only started watching after my Os, if not I think I would have added it into one of my "during Os tv serieses" such as Prison Break, Supernatural and Smallville.
Alright, now to talk about the restaurant. They treat you like human, unlike the Chinese Restaurant where they treat you like a piece of machine, bought from the factory or something. After about 2 hours of work, I got at least a 20 minutes break having delicious Italian and French cuisine. The people in Original Sin are much more friendly than the ex-restaurant that I used to work. Oh yea, the work here, its' better, you get to see beautiful white chicks dressed at their best.
Ok thats all for now, need to sleep, work starts at 11am tomorrow. After working at a waiter, I realised that working at CTU for 24 hours non-stop, it's impossible.
